corporate & private classes.
yoga classes in the workplace, or in the comfort of your own home.
at home. at work. in the park.
In dealing with the stresses of life in the city and a busy workload, many Londoners turn to yoga to unwind and relax after a hectic day at the office. Not only do yoga asanas (postures) release tension in the hips and tightness in the hamstrings from sitting at a desk all day, we can also strengthen the core and upper back, whilst opening the chest to create a healthier seated posture at work. Keeping the spine straight and the neck in line we become more alert, more productive and generally have a more positive outlook on the task at hand as our spirits are lifted.
Although the physical benefits of yoga practice for office workers are many, it's also the more subtle practices of yoga that can maintain an inner calm and collectiveness during busy times. Pranayama (breathing) practices help reconnect with the breath during times of stress, calming the nervous system. Simple meditation practices can bring focus back to the brain and improve function and efficiency, as well as bringing workload stresses into perspective.
As a producer in carnival & outdoor arts, in her day job Claire can be sat for long hours in the office, or on site managing hundreds of performers to tight schedules. Understanding what the desk bound body and brain can face, Claire currently offers corporate classes to offices and institutions in London, tailored to release the physical and mental tensions that build at work, as well as providing exercises, pranayama and meditation techniques to use in the workplace.
Workplace yoga has the added benefit of team social time; where colleagues can come together at the end of the day and breathe, release and restore together, creating a sense of solidarity and teamwork.

‘Claire is such a lovely, warm and non-judgmental teacher, she really puts me at ease. Having classes in my workplace is perfect – it really changes your work day when you know it ends in such a great way, relaxing all together. Claire tailors the class to respond to the stresses and strains of office life. She is incredibly attentive to everybody’s different needs too so it feels like you get the most out each class. I can’t recommend her highly enough!‘
Private classes can offer you the opportunity to work on-one-one with a teacher and can allow the practice to be tailored to suit any previous injuries, or focus on a strengthening and/or lengthening certain muscle groups (i.e post natal pelvic floor strengthening or hip & hamstring release for marathon training).
Claire currently offers private one-on-one or small group classes in the South East London area (in particular Camberwell / Peckham / East Dulwich), which can take place in the comfort of your own home, in your garden, or in the local park at a time to suit you.
Claire also offers private beginner Ashtanga Vinyasa classes for anyone wishing to explore the Ashtanga Primary Series. Click here for more info on Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga.
